Green-backed Flycatcher

Ficedula elisae (Weigold, 1922)

Muscicapidae — Chats, Old World Flycatchers

Green-backed Flycatcher, Ficedula elisae, is a passerine of the Muscicapidae family that breeds in north-eastern China and spends the non-breeding season in Thailand and the Malay Peninsula, with possible occurrence in South Korea. It was described by Weigold in 1922. It is treated as distinct from the narcissus flycatcher, with differences in form and voice supporting that separation. A name once proposed for a supposed separate Beijing or Peking flycatcher is now regarded as referring to a first-summer male of this species.
