Green-backed Robin

Pachycephalopsis hattamensis (Meyer, AB, 1874)

Green-backed Robin, Pachycephalopsis hattamensis, is a passerine of the Petroicidae family that breeds in the montane parts of western and central New Guinea. It is a New Guinea bird of moist forest, occurring in both lowland and mountain subtropical or tropical rainforest. The species is sexually monomorphic. Its plumage includes an olive-green back, rust-coloured wings and tail, and a yellow abdomen. Both sexes give vocalisations, with the usual call rendered as a tu-wee sound, alongside piping whistles and raspy chur-chatters.
