Green-billed Coucal

Centropus chlororhynchos

The Green-billed Coucal (Centropus chlororhynchos) is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking green bill and long tail. This species is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor and in low vegetation for insects, small reptiles, and other invertebrates. The Green-billed Coucal is a secretive bird and is often heard before it is seen, with its distinctive deep, resonant calls echoing through the forest. Despite its secretive nature, it is not considered globally threatened and is relatively common within its range.
