Green Catbird

Ailuroedus crassirostris

The Green Catbird (Ailuroedus crassirostris) is a species of bird found in the rainforests of eastern Australia. It is known for its vibrant green plumage and distinctive cat-like call. These birds are medium-sized, with a length of around 24-25 centimeters. They are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and berries, and also consume insects. The Green Catbird is known for its shy and elusive nature, often remaining hidden within the dense foliage of the rainforest. Despite being relatively common within its range, habitat loss and fragmentation pose threats to its population.
