Green-chinned Euphonia, Euphonia chalybea, is a finch and euphonia of the Atlantic Forest in south-eastern South America, with its breeding range in south-east Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-east Argentina. It was first described by Mikan in 1825. The bird is also called the green-throated euphonia. It is a resident species that lives in humid forest, especially along edges and in clearings with trees, and also in mature secondary growth. Its range runs from Rio de Janeiro and southern Minas Gerais to central Rio Grande do Sul, then into Misiones and Corrientes and across to Canindeyú and Itapúa.
