Green Hylia

Hylia prasina

The Green Hylia (Hylia prasina) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the forests and woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its vibrant green plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in its dense, leafy habitat. This species is typically observed foraging for insects in the mid to upper canopy, where it flits and darts among the foliage with remarkable agility. The Green Hylia's melodious song, often described as a series of high-pitched, rapid notes, is a characteristic sound of its woodland home. While not currently considered threatened, the species may face habitat loss and degradation in some parts of its range.
