Neomixis tenella
The Green Hylia (Neomixis tenella) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of central and eastern Africa. It is known for its bright green plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in the dense foliage where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. This species is often observed in the mid to upper canopy, where it flits and hops among the branches in search of food. The Green Hylia's melodious song is a common sound in its habitat, and it is often heard before it is seen. Despite its small size, this bird plays an important role in the ecosystem as a predator of insects. The conservation status of the Green Hylia is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
