Green Jay Cyanocorax luxuosus lives in southern Texas, Mexico and northern Central America. It is a New World jay, and its plumage varies across its range. Adults are about 27 cm long. They usually show blue and black on the head, green on the wings and mantle, bluish-green on the tail, a black bill, yellow or brown eye rings, and dark legs. Its diet includes arthropods, vertebrates, seeds and fruit. The nest is usually placed in a thorny bush, and the female incubates three to five eggs. It is a common bird with a wide range.
