Green Jay, Cyanocorax yncas, is a passerine in the crow family that breeds from southern Texas to Honduras in Middle America. It was named by Boddaert in 1783. This jay is best recognised by its rich green upperparts, bright yellow underparts and breast, and the dark band that crosses the face and forms a broad bib. The crown can look mostly white, with blue confined to the frontal crest and nape. It has a bright yellow iris. Its voice is varied, and one of its most familiar notes is a harsh rattling call.
