Green Mango

Green Mango, Anthracothorax viridis, is a hummingbird found only in Puerto Rico, where it breeds in the island’s mountains and is also present in forests and plantations. It is the only member of its genus recorded there. The female has a small white mark behind the eye, which helps separate it from the male. Adults show green upperparts, blue-green underparts and a blue-black tail with white-tipped feathers. Young birds have a browner tone on the head and back.
