Green Shrike-babbler, Pteruthius xanthochlorus, breeds in the Himalayas to ne Myanmar and is a passerine in the family Vireonidae. It was once placed with the babblers, but is now treated as part of the vireos and greenlets group. It lives in moist montane forest, especially deciduous and coniferous woodland, and is usually found between 2100 and 3000 metres, dropping lower in winter. The breeding period is mainly May and June, and nests are typically sited three to eight metres above the ground.
