Green Shrike-Vireo

Vireolanius pulchellus

The Green Shrike-Vireo is a small passerine bird found in the forests of Central and South America. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a yellow wash on the underparts and a black mask through the eyes. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. Green Shrike-Vireos primarily feed on insects and occasionally fruits, foraging actively in the foliage. They are known for their agile and acrobatic movements as they search for prey. Although not globally threatened, habitat loss due to deforestation poses a potential risk to their populations.
