The Green-winged Pytilia, also known as the Melba Finch, is a small, colorful bird found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is easily recognized by its striking green and red plumage, with the males displaying brighter colors than the females. These birds are often found in savannas, woodlands, and grasslands, where they forage for seeds and small insects. They are known for their acrobatic flight and melodious songs, often forming small flocks during the non-breeding season. The Green-winged Pytilia is not currently considered to be at risk, with stable populations across its range.
