Greenish Elaenia, Myiopagis viridicata, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family that breeds across Middle America and much of South America. It was described by Vieillot in 1817. Its range is broad and broken, with populations in Mexico, Central America and many parts of mainland South America. The species is made up of several subspecies that vary only a little from one another, though some northern and western Andean birds may deserve separate treatment. It lives in wooded country and other tree-rich habitats, and in some places it also uses plantations.
