Grey Apalis

Apalis binotata

The Grey Apalis is a small, insectivorous bird found in the woodlands and forests of sub-Saharan Africa. It has a distinctive grey plumage with a white belly and a black stripe through the eye. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard during the breeding season. Grey Apalis are typically found foraging for insects in the mid to upper canopy of trees, using their slender bills to capture prey. They are known for their agile and acrobatic flight patterns, often darting through the foliage in pursuit of insects. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to the Grey Apalis population.
