Lanius tephronotus
The Grey-backed Shrike is a medium-sized songbird found in parts of Asia. It has a distinctive grey back and a black mask extending from the bill to the eyes. The underparts are white with fine barring, and the wings and tail are black with white patches. This species is known for its habit of impaling prey on thorns or barbed wire. It inhabits open woodland, scrubland, and grassy areas, where it hunts for insects and small vertebrates.
