Lonchura vana (Hartert, EJO, 1930)
Grey-banded Mannikin, Lonchura vana, is a bird of the Arfak Mountains in north-west New Guinea. It was described by Hartert in 1930 and belongs to the Estrildidae. Its breeding range is in the Australasia region, in the eastern Arfak Mountains. It is associated with mid-mountain wet grassland and marshland, and it is also recorded from abandoned farm plots close to settlements. The species is known from Anggi Gigi, the Tamrau Mountains and the Arfak Mountains on the Vogelkop Peninsula in north-western Papua, Indonesia.
