Accipiter poliogaster (Temminck, 1824)

Grey-bellied Hawk, Accipiter poliogaster, is a forest bird of prey in South America, ranging across most of Amazonia to northern Argentina. It was described by Temminck in 1824 and belongs to the Accipitridae. It is a medium-sized hawk with a patchy, local presence and is generally rare. It lives in tropical lowland evergreen forest, as well as riparian woodland, dense forest and some secondary forest. Its most distinctive feature is the pale grey belly, set against dark upperparts and a hooded-looking head.
