Grey-breasted Mountain Toucan

Cyanolyca pumilo

The Grey-breasted Mountain Toucan, scientifically known as Cyanolyca pumilo, is a small to medium-sized toucan found in the cloud forests of the Andes mountains in South America. This species is characterized by its predominantly black plumage with a distinctive grey breast and a vibrant yellow throat. It has a unique and striking appearance, with a relatively large bill and a contrasting color pattern. Grey-breasted Mountain Toucans are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and occasionally insects. They are often observed in small groups or pairs, foraging in the dense vegetation of their montane habitat. Despite their striking appearance, these toucans are relatively elusive and can be challenging to spot in the wild.
