Grey-breasted Parakeet

Pyrrhura griseipectus

The Grey-breasted Parakeet, scientifically known as Pyrrhura griseipectus, is a small parrot species native to the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. It is characterized by its predominantly green plumage, with a grey chest and a red belly. These parakeets are known for their playful and social nature, often forming flocks and engaging in communal roosting. They primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and flowers, and are important seed dispersers in their ecosystem. Due to habitat loss and illegal trapping for the pet trade, the Grey-breasted Parakeet is considered vulnerable to extinction.
