Grey-cheeked Bulbul, Alophoixus tephrogenys, is a bulbul of the Oriental Region, ranging from the Malay Peninsula to the Greater Sunda Islands. It occurs in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest in subtropical or tropical areas. Two subspecies are recognised. The nominate form, A. t. tephrogenys, is found on the Malay Peninsula and in eastern Sumatra, while A. t. gutturalis occurs on Borneo. It was described by Jardine and Selby in 1833.
