The Grey-crowned Babbler, scientifically known as Meliphacator provocator, is a social and highly vocal bird species found in Australia. These birds are known for their cooperative breeding behavior, where multiple family groups work together to build large communal nests. They have a striking appearance with a grey head, black eye stripe, and brown and white plumage. Grey-crowned Babblers are highly social birds, often foraging in groups and communicating through a variety of calls and vocalizations. They primarily feed on insects and seeds, and their habitat includes open woodlands, shrublands, and grasslands. Although not currently listed, their conservation status is of least concern according to the IUCN Red List.
