Grey-faced Petrel

Pterodroma lessonii

The Grey-faced Petrel (Pterodroma lessonii) is a seabird species found in the southern hemisphere. It has a distinctive grey face and upperparts, with a white belly and underwings. These birds are known for their graceful flight and are often seen gliding over the open ocean. They breed on remote islands and cliffs, forming large colonies during the breeding season. Grey-faced Petrels feed on fish, squid, and crustaceans, foraging over the ocean surface. Due to threats such as invasive species and habitat destruction, their populations are declining, and they are considered vulnerable to extinction.
