Grey Fantail

Rhipidura albiscapa

The Grey Fantail (Rhipidura albiscapa) is a small insectivorous bird found in Australia, New Zealand, and nearby islands. It is known for its distinctive fan-shaped tail and agile, acrobatic flight. This species is typically found in a variety of habitats including forests, woodlands, and gardens. Grey Fantails are skilled at catching insects on the wing and often display a fanned tail while foraging. They are generally grey in color with a contrasting black and white tail. Despite being widespread, the Grey Fantail faces threats from habitat loss and predation by introduced species.
