Grey-fronted Dove, Leptotila rufaxilla, is a resident breeder in South America from Colombia to north-eastern Argentina, and also occurs on Trinidad. It belongs to the pigeon and dove family and is a forest bird of humid woodland, usually inside the forest but also along edges and in clearings. Its breeding range covers eastern South America east of the Andes, with records from Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It is identified by a greyish to bluish forehead in the nominate male, with a pinkish white throat and a black bill.
