Grey Gerygone, Gerygone igata, is a passerine of the Acanthizidae family that breeds in New Zealand, including the North, South and Stewart islands and nearby satellites. It is a forest bird that also uses lower vegetation, and it is found across the country and on offshore islands with shrubs. It is also present in suburban places where plants grow. The species is known internationally as Grey Gerygone or New Zealand Gerygone, and it is sometimes called the rainbird. Its scientific name was assigned by Quoy and Gaimard in 1832.
