Crinifer concolor (Smith, A, 1833)
Grey Go-away-bird, Crinifer concolor, is a turaco of southern Africa, found in arid to moist open woodland and thorn savanna, especially close to surface water. It is a familiar bird of the region and is often seen in groups or parties. It feeds in the tops of trees and also dust bathes on the ground. Its loud, nasal calls, often rendered as “kweh” or “go-way”, are a striking feature, and its appearance and habits make it hard to mistake for any other bird within its range.
