Batis orientalis (Heuglin, 1870)

Grey-headed Batis, Batis orientalis, is a bird of central and north-eastern Africa in the family Platysteiridae. It occurs in dry savanna, dry lowland grassland, thornbush and semi-desert scrub, and its range runs from western central Africa to the Horn and south to Uganda and Kenya. It is a small black, white and grey species, with the male showing a dark face, a white mark on the forehead and a broad pale eyebrow. The female is similar, but the breast band is chestnut or rufous.
