Phylloscopus xanthoschistos
The Grey-hooded Warbler (Phylloscopus xanthoschistos) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its grey hood and olive-green upperparts, with a yellowish underside and distinctive white markings on the wings. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of broadleaf and mixed forests. It forages actively for insects and larvae in the mid to upper canopy, and is known for its acrobatic movements while hunting. The Grey-hooded Warbler is a migratory bird, spending the winter in the lower elevations of its range. It is generally considered to be of least concern in terms of conservation status.
