Grey-necked Bunting

Emberiza buchanani

The Grey-necked Bunting (Emberiza buchanani) is a small passerine bird found in parts of Asia. It is characterized by its grey head and neck, with streaked brown and white plumage on the back and wings. The underparts are pale with streaks, and it has a distinctive white throat. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. The Grey-necked Bunting primarily forages on the ground for seeds and insects. It prefers open grasslands, scrub, and agricultural areas for nesting and feeding. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and agricultural intensification may pose future conservation challenges for this species.
