Grey Pileated Finch, Coryphospingus pileatus, is a passerine of South America, breeding in Colombia, Venezuela and eastern Brazil. It belongs to the tanager family, Thraupidae, and was first described in 1821 by Wied-Neuwied. Its range includes dry forest, moist lowland forest, dry shrubland and heavily altered former woodland. The male shows a white eye ring and a small scarlet crest on the crown, partly hidden by black head plumage, while the female has similar plumage without the red and black on the head.
