Grey Teal, Anas gracilis, is a duck in the Anatidae family and an Anseriformes bird. It breeds widely across Australasia. The species is found in Australia and New Zealand, and also breeds in New Guinea and Indonesia. It is a dabbling duck associated with wetlands, especially shallow freshwater places such as lagoons, swamps and lakes. It also uses coastal and brackish water at times. Nesting may take place on the ground among vegetation, or in tree hollows and rabbit burrows.
