Grey-throated Babbler, Stachyris nigriceps, is a passerine in the Timaliidae family found across the Oriental Region, from the Himalayas of Nepal to southern China, Vietnam, Sumatra and nearby islands, and Borneo. It was first described by Blyth in 1844, with Nepal given as the type locality. Its range also includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. It occurs in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest in subtropical and tropical areas.
