Grey Tit, Melaniparus afer, is a bird of southern Africa in the tit family Paridae. It occurs in Lesotho and South Africa, where it lives in dry shrubland and in shrubby vegetation of Mediterranean type. The species was first described in 1789 by Gmelin. Two subspecies are recognised: M. a. arens in south South Africa and Lesotho, and M. a. afer in Namibia and west South Africa.
