Grey Whistler

Pachycephala simplex Gould, 1843

Grey Whistler, Pachycephala simplex, is a passerine in the whistler family that breeds in Australasia, from the southern Moluccas through New Guinea and its satellites to northern Australia. It was described by Gould in 1843. The species is also known as the brown whistler. Its range includes northern Australia and New Guinea, and it is recorded from a wide spread of islands across the region, including Melville Island, the Kai Islands, Waigeo, Gebe, Yapen, the Aru Islands, the Louisiade Archipelago and the D’Entrecasteaux Archipelago.
