Greyish Eagle-Owl, Bubo cinerascens, is an owl of Africa, breeding from Senegal and Gambia east to Ethiopia and northern Kenya. It was described by Guérin-Méneville in 1843. A member of the Strigidae, it is a northern sub-Saharan species that was once treated as part of the Spotted Eagle-Owl. It has dark brown eyes, not yellow, and a brown facial disk with a strong ring around each eye. Its plumage is mottled above and finely barred below, giving it a greyish-brown look.
