Greyish Mourner, Rhytipterna simplex, is a passerine of Amazonia and eastern and south-eastern Brazil, where it lives in humid forest. It is a tyrant flycatcher and is placed in the family Tyrannidae. The species was first described by Lichtenstein in 1823. It is a year-round resident. Its breeding range is in South America, covering Amazonia and eastern, south-eastern Brazil. The bird is mainly associated with the mid to upper levels of terra firme forest, and it also uses the transition between this forest and other types.
