Groove-billed Toucanet, Aulacorhynchus sulcatus, is a toucan of northern South America, breeding in north-eastern Colombia and northern Venezuela. It belongs to the family Ramphastidae in the order Piciformes. The bird is named for the grooves on its bill, and the bill shape is its key distinguishing feature. Three subspecies are recognised, with the nominate form described by Swainson in 1820. It is mainly associated with humid montane forest, but it also uses secondary growth, forest margins, scattered trees and gardens, while avoiding broad open country.
