Ground Parrot, Pezoporus wallicus, is a parrot of south-western and south-eastern Australia and Tasmania. It belongs to the family Psittaculidae and was described by Kerr in 1792. It is one of only four parrots that live on the ground. The IOC World Bird List recognises three subspecies: the eastern ground parrot, the western ground parrot or Kyloring, and the Tasmanian ground parrot. The bird is one of the Pezoporus species, alongside the night parrot, and is noted for its yellowish green plumage with darker barring.
