Bolbopsittacus lunulatus (Scopoli, 1786)

Guaiabero, Bolbopsittacus lunulatus, is a parrot of the Philippines in the Oriental Region, breeding across most of the country but not the West Visayas, the Palawan group or the Sulu Archipelago. It is a member of Psittaculidae and the only species in its genus. Found in lowland forests, nearby cleared areas, mangroves and plantations, it also uses places with termite mounds up to 1,000 metres above sea level. It is a small, stout bird with a large bill and a short tail, and the sexes differ in plumage.
