Guaiquinima Whitestart, Myioborus cardonai, is a New World warbler found in south-east Venezuela, where it is tied to Cerro Guaiquinima in Bolívar state. It was first described in 1945. The bird lives in cloudforest, gallery forest and nearby thick scrub, mainly on the mountain’s interior and margins, at 1,200 to 1,700 m. It is a resident species and is known from a very restricted area. Both sexes share the same plumage, with a black forehead and crown, white eye crescents, slate-grey upperparts, and deep orange-yellow underparts.
