Guayaquil Woodpecker, Campephilus gayaquilensis, is a woodpecker of South America, breeding from south-west Colombia to north-west Peru. It lives in the interior and along the edges of dry to humid deciduous forest, and also in mature secondary forest. It is a year-round resident across its range. The species is a member of Picidae and is monotypic. Its breeding season has not been defined, though it is known to include October and May. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, with records reaching 1,500 m in Ecuador and Peru and 1,100 m in Colombia.
