Guira Tanager, Hemithraupis guira, is a South American bird in the tanager family, breeding widely across the continent from Colombia south to Argentina and Paraguay, and east to the far side of Brazil. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and in heavily altered former forest. The species was first described in 1766. It is a small passerine with males and females differing in plumage, and the male shows a dark face and throat set off by a bright yellow border.
