Hainan Fulvetta

Trochalopteron peninsulae

The Hainan Fulvetta (Trochalopteron peninsulae) is a small bird species found in the forests and woodlands of Hainan Island in southern China. It is known for its distinctive olive-brown plumage with a white throat and belly. These birds are often seen in small flocks, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the dense undergrowth. They are known for their melodious and varied songs, often heard during the breeding season. The Hainan Fulvetta is a resident species and does not undertake long migrations. However, its forest habitat is under threat due to deforestation and habitat degradation.
