Handsome Sunbird, Aethopyga bella, is a bird of the Philippines, where it breeds across the Oriental Region except the Palawan group. It was described by Tweeddale in 1877 and belongs to the sunbird family, Nectariniidae. It lives in tropical moist lowland and montane forest, and also uses second growth and plantations up to 2,000 metres above sea level. A key feature is its plain yellow breast, which separates it from the Lovely Sunbird. It has a high-pitched voice, with a call like “chik”.
