Hartlaub's Gull, Chroicocephalus hartlaubii, breeds along the coast of Namibia to the Western Cape in southern Africa. It is a gull in the family Laridae and was described by Bruch in 1855. The bird is placed in the genus Chroicocephalus. Its name honours the German physician and zoologist Gustav Hartlaub. It has also been called king gull.
