The Hawaii Akepa is a small colorful bird endemic to Hawaii Island. Males are bright orange while females are more subdued olive-green. It forages for insects in the canopy of native montane Ohia forest and has a crossed bill tip adapted for feeding on micro-insects in Ohia leaf buds.
