Hawaiian Creeper

Iole charlottae

The Hawaiian Creeper, scientifically known as Iole charlottae, is a small, endemic bird species found in the forests of Hawaii. It is characterized by its slender bill and distinctive creeping foraging behavior, often moving along tree trunks and branches in search of insects and larvae. The plumage of the Hawaiian Creeper is predominantly olive-green with subtle streaks and a pale underbelly. This species plays a vital role in the pollination and seed dispersal of native Hawaiian plants. Due to habitat loss and introduced species, the Hawaiian Creeper faces conservation challenges, and its population is currently declining.
