Pterodroma atrata (Mathews, 1912)

Henderson Petrel, Pterodroma atrata, is a petrel of the Pacific Ocean that breeds on Henderson in the Pitcairn group and on Moto Nui in the Eastern Islands of French Polynesia. It is a member of the Procellariidae and was described by Mathews in 1912. The bird nests on the ground and has uniform grey-brown plumage. Its breeding sites are tied to moist subtropical scrub on Henderson, and the species is associated with a small number of island colonies in this part of the Pacific.
