Highland Elaenia

Highland Elaenia, Elaenia obscura, is a tyrant flycatcher of the Andean slopes in southern Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and north-western Argentina. It lives in humid subtropical and temperate forest, secondary growth, stunted cloudforest, forest fragments and young regrowth, usually in the undergrowth and along edges. It is a large elaenia without a crest, and the sexes look alike. Adults show dark greyish olive upperparts, a pale yellow throat and belly, two pale wing bars, and a dusky tail with white tips on unworn feathers.
